Microlux Gourd Craft Package This kit has all the power tools you need for serious gourd craft. Includes jig saw, high-speed grinder, and medium duty power supply. Jig saw is only 3 1/2" long, and easily makes complex cuts in thick gourds. This is the tool David Blackwell uses to make his puzzle gourds, but it works great for just opening the gourd to make bowls. Just make a small starter opening with knife or drill; the push button switch is right at your fingertips. Grinder/drill is very small and lightweight, but packs plenty of power for gourd craft. Weighs only 5.4 oz, so it's easy to hold and control for detail work as well as for smoothing out bowl interiors. Includes 3 collets and wrench; accepts any Dremel type bits. Detail Master Woodburner Kit
This is the pyroengraving tool used by serious gourd crafters. Detail Master is a complete pyroengraving system, offering complete temperature control and interchangeable handpieces with a slew of different tips. We're offering the Dagger model; it will deliver up to 50 watts depending on the load, which is more than enough for gourds. The unit has temperature control and a convenient front panel mounted jack to plug in a handpiece. The Ultimate Gourd Scraper
Long-handled scraper with tough welded-steel blade is the right tool for the job of cleaning out birdhouse or any other kind of gourds. The circular blade is small enough to fit through small birdhouse entrance holes and still thoroughly clean out the inside of the gourd. Also great for bowls!

Hole Saw
Nested hole saw includes 7 blades and will cut holes with diameters of 1" to 2-1/2" in 1/4" increments. Uses included 1/4" guide bit; !/4" shaft fits any power drill. Light duty, but great for bird house entrances! $10.00

Supplies

Sanding Pad
These little sanding pads are great for smoothing out the rough edges on bowls, gourd jewelry, or whatever. They're pliable, but tougher and more durable than sandpaper. Fine grit on one side, medium on the other, about 2x3 inches. $1.25 ea.

Dust masks
You can raise a lot of dust and mold when sawing, grinding or cleaning gourds, and these are not good things to get in your lungs. These masks, made by 3-M, are classified as "nuisance dust" masks and will significantly reduce your exposure. (If you are particularly sensitive to molds or dust, you should investigate an OSHA approved respirator.) 3 for $2.00
